Each one of us has a space in one’s psyche that is filled with images. These paintings are a collection of images that emerged through me, each collation of which is an expression of something that happened in my life.

From a young age, I have been inspired to do artwork, working with many different kinds of mediums and exploring ways of creating art. My enduring love is for oil painting.  It is a seduction, allowing and forgiving my testing, bending and inventing of rules, responding with luscious colour and texture. Oil painting can capture light and reveal form with the shadows  but it doesn’t let go of that concealed form during the process of layer upon layer… and something alluring about the nutty magical old world aroma of linseed oil .

My focus in this collection of work is an exploration of creative inner visuals where oil paint colludes with whimsy and the messengers that prompt me with an aesthetic choice that is not really necessary. It is not an embellishing type of triviality; it is a phenomenon of an unknown or perhaps uncomfortable element that needs to appear.
